DLSU, CvSU launch Wonders of Philippine Coffee Museum
With the aim to provide a one-stop information shop about the different varieties of coffee found in the Philippines, De La Salle University (DLSU) and Cavite State University (CvSU) launched the Wonders of Philippine Coffee Museum at Cavite State University – Don Severino Delas Alas Campus in Indang, Cavite on 09 June 2015.
The establishment of the said museum was conceptualized and spearheaded by Dr. Carmen A. Lagman, Head, Biodiversity Unit, DLSU and Dr. Ruel Mojica, Director, National Coffee Research, Development and Extension Center (NCRDEC), CvSU and was made possible through the funding support of the United States Agency for International Development – Science, Technology, Research, and Innovation for Development (USAID-STRIDE).
The event was attended by CvSU officials, DLSU Biodiversity Unit staff, different industry partners – provincial and local government units, coffee farmers/growers, staff from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Department of Trade and Industry, Dr. David Hall of USAID-STRIDE, MirShariff C. Tillah of USAID, and other coffee advocates and enthusiasts.
